Hands On Atlanta is seeking a motivated, organized individual to assist in annual fundraising efforts. The Development Department is responsible for raising an annual budget of approximately $6.3 million from individuals, foundations, corporations and the government. This position will be supervised by the Corporate Relations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Targeting companies and drafting correspondence to potential sponsors and/or volunteers for Hands On Atlanta Day, the largest centrally organized day of service in the nation.

  • Researching prospective corporate partners and identifying key contacts as part of a new initiative.

  • Providing assistance to corporate partners and potential sponsors by managing team registration in the Hands On Atlanta database. The Corporate Relations Intern will also have responsibilities around preparing collateral, set up and additional logistics for the Hands On Atlanta Corporate Partner Training.

  • Soliciting in-kind donations for Hands On Atlanta’s specialized corporate volunteer projects and assisting with logistical preparations for these 100+ volunteer projects.

  • Assisting with team registration and day of event logistics for ServiceJuris, a volunteer event that will engage 700 volunteers from Atlanta’s legal industry in hands on volunteer projects. Provide project support to the ServiceJuris project team.

  • Assisting with the set-up, event procedures, and break-down of A Taste of Volunteering, Hands On Atlanta’s wine tasting fundraising event.

  • Updating and maintaining accurate, comprehensive corporate records in the Hands On Atlanta database as well as consistently maintaining historical documents.

  • Participating in organizational-wide special volunteer service and fundraising events.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates currently should be enrolled in school pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing. Candidates must have excellent time-management skills, be well-organized, creative and able to work well both independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must. A commitment to community service is essential. All members of the Development Department will take an active leadership role in agency wide volunteer service and fundraising events.
