Hands On Atlanta is a non-profit
organization dedicated to building community & meeting critical needs
through volunteer service and civic engagement. With an active
membership of more than 20,000 volunteers and the largest AmeriCorps
program in the southeastern United States, Hands On Atlanta is one of
the largest affiliates of the HandsOn Network and is the leading
organizer of volunteerism in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
The Manager, Nonprofit Capacity Building
Programs is responsible for the management of Hands On Atlanta’s
volunteer leadership and skill-based volunteer programs. The Manager is
a member of the Community & Civic Engagement department.
Major Responsibilities:
Program Management
§
Train and support
volunteer leaders who lead monthly service projects in support of the
clients of nonprofits
§
Train and support
skill-based volunteers to deliver pro bono consulting services to
improve the operations of nonprofits
§
Support the TeamWorks!
steering committee in implementation of program activities
§
Train and support
nonprofit agencies to engage and retain Hands On Atlanta volunteers
Planning & Evaluation
§
Design/refine procedures
for nonprofit capacity building programs
§
Plan for improvement and
growth in future program cycles
Supervision
§
Develop roles and secure
work-study and unpaid interns to support program administration
§
Conduct periodic formal
evaluations of intern performance
§
Remediate intern
performance as necessary
Program Administration
§
Collect and input
volunteer information into Hands On Atlanta’s database
Other Duties
§
Support the execution of
Hands On Atlanta Day
§
Support the execution of
corporate events
§
Perform other duties as
assigned
Desirable candidates will possess the
following skills/experience:
§
Bachelor’s degree
§
Volunteer management (3-5
years)
§
Education and/or
professional experience in adult education programs (3-5 years)
§
Education and/or
professional experience in business/nonprofit administration (3-5 years)
§
Business consulting
experience (1-2 years)
§
Supervisory experience
(1-2 years)
§
Excellent oral and written
communication skills
