Hands On Atlanta is seeking two Recruitment Interns to support the recruitment in AmeriCorps and Reading Adds Up, volunteer management and database development.

 

Responsibilities

Recruitment:  The Recruitment Interns will assist the Associate Director of Recruitment and Marketing in researching opportunities for Hands On Atlanta to recruit potential AmeriCorps applicants and Reading Adds Up volunteers. The Recruitment Interns will assist with implementing a creative recruitment plan to reach a diverse population of applicants and volunteers. The Recruitment Interns will also develop relationships with colleges/universities, secondary schools, care centers, community and civic groups, house of worship, etc.

Volunteer Management:  The Recruitment Interns will assist in the development of trainings, preparing training materials and designing the Recruitment newsletter. The Recruitment Interns will track volunteer hours and recognizing volunteers on birthdays and holidays. The Recruitment Interns will also assist with data entry of volunteer and AmeriCorps applicant materials as well as schedule AmeriCorps applicants for interviews.

 

Research and Database Development: The Recruitment Interns will assist in creating and maintaining a database of clubs, civic organizations, houses of worship, colleges and university groups, and senior centers to recruit group and individual support for the AmeriCorps and Reading Adds Up programs.  

 

Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate strong writing, public speaking, research, and organizational skills.  Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and maturity, be an analytical and creative thinker, and be able to work independently.  The Recruitment Interns must also be committed to community service. Familiarity with various communities, organizations and businesses in Atlanta is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Word, Access and desktop publishing/graphic design programs is also necessary.
