The Intern
will assist Schools Department staff with
developing stronger academic and enrichment
program resources to support school-based
AmeriCorps teams. This role is vital HOA’s
AmeriCorps program, which is designated to
assists public schools in the metro area in
improving the quality of education for
students through direct citizen involvement
in schools.
Responsibilities:

Creating
resource notebooks of curriculum and
student activities for use in RAU and
ASEP programs
-
Research
and develop a document of best practices
for delivering high-impact after school
enrichment programs and parent
engagement activities
-
Research
and develop a resource document for
educational and leisure field-trip ideas
throughout metro Atlanta and surrounding
counties
-
Research
and create a highly-creative Volunteer
Recognition mini-manual
-
Update
partnership phone/address/ principal
directories
-
Identify,
secure and develop a mini-manual of
housing discounts, inexpensive vehicle
purchase vendors, clothing and other
social service resources for AmeriCorps
members to access
-
Developing
innovative direct service and service
learning ideas for school teams to
implement for HOA annual events
-
Assist
School Program Managers with pre-service
orientation tasks
-
Participate in HOA Youth Leadership Camp
-
Data entry
and management
Qualifications:

Must be
detail oriented

Strong
computer, organizational and time
management skills

Able to
work independently as well as within in
a team

Strong
written and oral communication skills

to community service is essential
