Basic Volunteering
- A long-term commitment is not required, unless you want one.
- Volunteer for as few or as many hours as you choose: evening or daytime, weekends or weekdays, whatever your schedule allows.
- There are service projects to which you can bring your children. Volunteering as a family is great quality time together.
- Some projects use volunteers' special skills (e.g. a computer whiz can teach computing to youths or help HOA improve our in-house computer system).
- Switch from one project to another at your will. Some volunteers use this opportunity to test out possible career interests.
Long-term Volunteer Commitments/Leadership Opportunities
If you're interested in a long-term role and volunteer leadership opportunities, such as Project Coordinator, School Captain, Grade Captain, please call HOA at (404) 872-2252.
The Citizen: Atlanta's Monthly Volunteer Magazine
The Citizen, mailed at the beginning of each month, is a volunteer's main source of information about Hands On Atlanta. If you haven't done a project for six months, you will be taken off of the mailing list to save postage. Similarly, if you change your address, move, or want to be deleted from the mailing list, please call us at (404) 872-2252.
Getting Involved
