Our drivers are a critical part of the service we provide to the community, since a majority of our clients are homebound. In fact, our volunteer drivers are quite often the only person a client may see on any given day. But as much as that meal - and that simple moment shared- means to each client it means just as much to each volunteer.
Volunteers may deliver individually or in groups. You will use your own vehicle to deliver meals to our clients out in the community. We will provide extremely detailed driving directions and a 30 minute delivery training. Training for new drivers begins at 10 am; returning drivers may arrive anytime between 9-10:30am to pick up their routes. The average route is 2-3 hours long, and you will only deliver meals within the metro Atlanta area.
This opportunity is available every day, but our greatest need is on the weekends. There is no limit to the number of participants we can accept. Children of all ages are more than welcome to assist with deliveries.
