GOAL (Girls of Optimum Achievement in Leadership Program) at The Salvation ArmySWAN exists to develop young urban leaders in Southwest Atlanta who are prepared to advocate for their community. The vision of the organization is to see youth of SWAN become positive, respectful (of self and others), secure, proactive, purposeful leaders, who can advocate for causes inside or outside of their community with diligence and dignity as well-spoken, well-educated, broad-minded productive citizens.
The GOAL program will invest in the participants to mold them into strong, productive, and contributing members of society as we attempt to improve the outlook of young ladies in the Southwest Atlanta community. We will accomplish this with an 'inside-out' concept. The topics and themes incorporated into our curriculum are necessary for the development of young ladies who will in turn be equipped to lead in their schools, homes, and community. Our desire is to find caring and committed adults like you to accomplish this goal by providing quality mentoring to them.
