The Operation Fit Kids curriculum is part of Hands On Atlanta's school-based, volunteer-driven Discovery Program and, through the support of Humana, teaches the importance of being physically active and making healthy food choices. On Saturday, March 17, 2012, approximately 40 students from Oakview Elementary in Decatur, Ga. demonstrated the skills learned during the eight-week program. Humana's leadership team joined in on the activities and saw first-hand how their support helps these children.
"At Humana, we are dedicated to helping the communities we serve live a healthy life by creating innovative partnerships like this one with Hands On Atlanta and Operation Fit Kids," said Dave Feruck, market president commercial operations at Humana. "We are so proud to be a part of this program and, at this event, we were honored to see these energetic kids in action with everything they learned."

LogFire, LLC is an innovative software and supply chain execution company which is relatively new to the Atlanta area. Like many companies of their size (under 100 employees), LogFire, LLC reached a point of maturation in which they developed a deep desire to give back to the community that had given them so much. The employees of LogFire knew they wanted to donate their time. they just didn't know how. When this small firm joined Hands On Atlanta's corporate partnerships program, our experienced staff worked with them to identify a volunteer service project that would ignite the passion of their employees and encourage a deeper conenction to the Greater Atlanta community.
Hands On Atlanta placed LogFire at an urban garden in the historic Auburn District of downtown Atlanta. The team had a fun and productive morning, and at the end of the day everyone got a lesson from the garden's staff on composting techniques at home and the importance of Community Supported Agriculture.
