2012 Hands On Atlanta MLK Day of Service Presented by Delta Air Lines
The 17th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, presented by Delta Air Lines, will celebrate the power of individuals engaged in a worldwide struggle for peace, reconciliation, justice and social and economic equity. Organized by Hands On Atlanta in partnership with The King Center for Nonviolent Social Change, this day of service tribute on Monday, January 16, 2012 will honor Dr. and Mrs. King’s lives, and will offer people of all backgrounds an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their role in social change.
Our 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service goal is to mobilize 3,000 volunteers which will yield more than 10,000 hours of service to Atlanta’s communities. Register today! Link
The 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service will be especially noteworthy in that the event will mark the inauguration of Hands On Atlanta’s Civic Leadership Program, a grant competition to equip civic leaders to create and execute innovative, ongoing and volunteer-driven initiatives to alleviate local poverty.
