Description:
Help enhance and preserve Piedmont Park as a vital urban green space by working on weekly maintenance and operational projects with Piedmont Park Conservancy.
Projects include graffiti removal; ivy, kudzu and privet control; pine strawing; amenities maintenance efforts; protective fencing installation and removal; litter patrol, water fountain, grills and bench cleaning; mulching; and additional tasks as assigned.
Volunteers must be be able to perform tasks in all weather conditions, stand and bend for up to 2 hours, perform tasks on unlevel ground and slight incline, lift a minimum of 5 lbs, and walk approximately 1/2 to 1 mile in the course of completing tasks in 185 acres of usable parkland.
Volunteers must be at least 5 years old with adult supervision. Court-ordered volunteers are welcome.
