Discovery is an engaging Saturday morning enrichment program which offers STEAM, SEL, Fitness, and Health activities to metro Atlanta’s K-5 youth. Discovery is Hands On Atlanta’s longest running program and offers community volunteers a meaningful and interactive service experience.
Hands On Atlanta partners with over 10 Title 1 elementary schools, serving nearly 1,000 students a school year. The program operates, on average, two Saturdays a month September-May. In addition to fun and educational activities, all students receive breakfast and take-home snacks at each Discovery session.

VOLUNTEER AT DISCOVERY
Discovery is supported by over 500 community volunteers every year. Volunteers interact with students in a fun and structured environment, helping them gain new skills and visualize brighter futures. Whether you want to volunteer once or prefer to take on a reoccurring leadership position, we’d love to have you join us at an upcoming Discovery session. Check out our volunteer opportunity calendar to find a school and date that works with your schedule. Sessions run from late September through early May.
Support one of our most popular and impactful programs with a corporate sponsorship or individual donation! Any size contribution will help, from financial to in-kind support the program thrives off of community involvement.
Do you have a group or organization that wants to “adopt” one of our Discovery sites? This is an opportunity to form relationships with students and be a part of their Saturday enrichment experience for a full school year. Your group would commit 8+ volunteers serving 10-12 Saturday’s for the 2019-2020 school year.
