Fresh Food Fridays: Chamblee Location
Friday April 27 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
St. Vincent de Paul Georgia picks up fresh and frozen food from more than 40 Kroger Supermarkets each week. The food is taken to our food pantries across the state and distributed to thousands of individuals and families each month. Volunteers will help sort and process food donations to be distributed to Family Support Center clients
Project Grant Woodland Restoration
Saturday April 28 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Join the Grant Park Conservancy to care for historic Grant Park - we depend on volunteers like you to help keep the park healthy and beautiful! Project GRANT (Greenspace Restoration and Neighborhood Teamwork) convenes monthly in the park for morning (9 AM - noon) and afternoon (1 PM - 4 PM) work sessions. Both sessions will tackle labor-intensive projects throughout the park including invasive plant removal, tree canopy care, and trash pick up. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one or both sessions!
Beautification At Truly Living Well East Point
Saturday April 28 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Truly Living Well (TLW) works to engage the community in developing local food systems and demonstrating urban agriculture as a sustainable solution for helping people to eat and live better. Volunteers will be working together to complete farm tasks in order to keep the farm operating at peak level and its herbs and plants flourishing. Volunteer tasks include filling produce beds with soil, mulch designated areas with wood chips, process, sift and stage compost, assist with light landscaping and more.
100k Opportunities Initiative
Thursday May 3 from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
With thousands of youth in Atlanta out of school and not working, the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative is committed to investing in the region. During the event young adults will have the opportunity to connect with over 30 hiring companies as well as a full suite of services to help break down barriers to education and employment. Volunteers will help with registration, guide youth through the event, conduct mock interviews, help with resumes and more.
Moving In the Spirit Front of House Volunteers for SOAR Show
Thursday May 3 from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM
SOAR: Be Bold. Be Brave. Believe. honors the inherent power we all possess to step forward, take a risk, and realize greatness within ourselves and the world. This performance will feature all of our students age 5-18. Volunteer duties include: greeting guests, assisting at will call, recording demographics, assisting with seating, break down of the lobby and assisting with the interactive exhibits in the lobby.
