Thank you for supporting Hands On Atlanta Week, presented by Delta Air Lines! By serving with us, you and your teammates will join thousands of volunteers at hundreds of projects throughout metro Atlanta. Below find everything you need for a successful project with your team!

 

GET THE WORD OUT


Send a save the date and use the activation flier (button below - edit with your logo and directions on signing up) to boost sign ups! Post on your company’s intranet, in the newsletter, bulletin boards, staff meetings, wellness committee, etc. to promote the day of service. You can also:

  • Contact your Project Manager (PM) by emailing them (you should've received contact info) to set up a call to discuss the logistics of your project.

  • Assign Project Captains and select 1-4 members of your staff to serve as Project Captains to help share information internally and serve as ambassadors on Hands On Atlanta Day. Be sure to include Project Captains in conversations with your Project Manager.

SEPTEMBER 3rd

Hands On Atlanta will email corporate partners with project options to choose from.

SEPTEMBER 6th

  • Corporate project selection deadline.

  • Final deadline for logos for volunteer shirt.

SEPTEMBER 9th

  • Final project announcement from Hands On Atlanta to corporate sponsors

  • Hands On Atlanta orders volunteer shirts

  • Invitation email template to invite staff from Hands On Atlanta (see below)

Email project details (or have Project Captains send) a reminder email to staff providing more details about the upcoming volunteer project, including what the team will be doing and how this will help the community!

  • Include specific information to your project including: project location/address, registration times and details, transportation, what to wear and how to pick up their t-shirt, provision of food/beverages, information about bringing guests/family and what do to if they have questions.

I'm excited to share that on Saturday, October 6, YOUR COMPANY will participate in Hands On Atlanta Week, the city's largest week of service! We're putting a team of VOLUNTEER SLOTS together to do something good and want you and your family to join us. We'll be PROJECT DETAILS at SITE NAME AND LOCATION from PROJECT START/END TIME.

It's going to be a ton of fun and this is a great opportunity for you to connect with your colleagues and show the rest of Atlanta why working at YOUR COMPANY is awesome! To sign up (your friends and family are welcome) LIST DIRECTIONS HERE.

SEPTEMBER 20th

Provide a final head count to Sussanah Darrow (sdarrow@handsonatlanta.org) by September 20th. Remember, you can invite friends, family, or clients to your volunteer service project. Please release any volunteer slots that your company will not be using.

 

SEPTEMBER 23rd

Open public registration for reserved projects.

SEPTEMBER 27th

Send a reminder email (or assign Project Captain to send a reminder email) about the volunteer project, reiterate logistical details and provide a gameday contact number (of Project Captain), and any other last minute procedures that your team should be aware of.

  • Project Captains:

    • BRING snacks, bottled water, and/or bug spray for your group’s project site (Basic first aid kits should be available at every site)

    • SNAP before and after pictures of your group and send upload to Snapphound or email to tadkins@handsonatlanta.org

    • SHARE your experience and photos on social media and USE social media tags #ATLServes #DoSomethingGood tag us on social media (Facebook & Twitter: @handsonatlanta / Instagram: @handsonatl).

 

OCTOBER 2nd

Know Before You Go email sent out with final reminders and project details.

OCTOBER 3rd

Kick-Off Party at Wild Heaven Brewery 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Join the Hands On Atlanta team, corporate and nonprofit leaders, and plenty of changemakers for a fun evening to kick-off Atlanta's largest, single day of service! Get your volunteer t-shirts, enjoy the tasty brews and scenic views of the Atlanta Beltline Westside trail, connect with a ton of awesome nonprofits, and snack on food and treats from a few of our partners!

*If you or a member of your team CANNOT join us at the kick-off, be sure to arrange to pick up your team's t-shirts from Hands On Atlanta’s HQ or arrange to have them delivered to you.
